Watch Me! is a feature-length documentary film that explores the life of Ms. Pat, aka Samurai Mama, aka disciple to the notion of ‘if you rest you rust’, aka my 84 year old mom, Mary Patricia Rich. This personal documentary is a new landscape for me, and one that I find to be equally intimidating and enlightening. Having just turned 50, I feel that I have just gotten on this particularly troubling stretch of life’s highway that mom has been on for a while. The film will explore the experience of aging, placing both she and I on different points in a timeline that most people, if they are fortunate, will navigate.
